Money Saving 101

Money Saving 101Use credit cards for emergencies only!

Pay cash whenever possible. Develop a habit of paying cash only for purchases, giving you an opportunity to decide if this is a necessary purchase as well as keeping your spending practical. If you decide to make a credit card purchase, avoid interest charges by paying the balance off monthly. If you already have a credi card balance then transfer to a card with a low interest rate.

Pack lunch.

A $24/day for lunch by 5 workdays is $480 a month! Knowing this, can you find more useful ways to use that money? Sure you can, so while treating yourself by eating out once in awhile might be nice, it’s an expensive and unnecessary habit.

Call during off peak hours.

It is not uncommon for "phone talkers" to spend a couple hundred dollars a month on phone charges. Much of this can be avoided by placing the majority of your calls during off peak hours. Take advantage of deals and specials that emerge from competing networks.
